Our Programs

Our programs are shaped by the real needs of the people we serve.

Support that meets individuals, families and caregivers where they are.

Caring for children, supporting youth, and navigating life’s challenges can bring big decisions and moments where support matters most. Individuals, families, and caregivers come to Patty Cakes Family Center looking for guidance, education, and practical tools they can use in everyday life.

Patty Cakes was founded by a foster parent who understood how difficult it can be to find timely, meaningful support. Today, our programs serve foster families, parents, caregivers, youth, and community members through education and training that build confidence, safety, emotional well-being, and preparedness.

Whether you are supporting a young person’s growth, caring for a family member, or looking for practical tools and guidance, our programs are here to help.

Mental Health Seminars

Our mental health seminars create space for honest learning, reflection and growth.

Participants learn about common mental health conditions, stress management and coping strategies, and the challenges and pressures of youth.

The focus is on reducing stigma through education while encouraging self-care and resilience.

CPR and First Aid

Our CPR and first aid training helps participants feel more prepared to respond in an emergency.

Participants learn about the Chain of Survival, practice CPR for adults, children and infants, and receive AED training using an automated external defibrillator.

The goal is to build confidence and strengthen emergency response skills when every second counts.

Suicide Awareness and Prevention

This program creates space for awareness, education and supportive conversation.

Participants learn how to identify warning signs and risk factors, respond to someone in a crisis, and use supportive, nonjudgmental communication.

The focus is on helping people recognize concerns early and respond with care.

Many Paths, One Journey: A Multicultural Workshop on Death and Dying

This workshop creates space for support and communication around death and dying through a multicultural lens.

Participants learn about the stages of grief, palliative and hospice care, the emotional and psychological aspects of end-of-life, cultural and personal perspectives on death, preparations, planning options, legal and ethical issues, and practical after-death care.

The focus is on healthy coping strategies for loss and self-care for caregivers.
